• DTE  tree trimming

    Dear Residents,
Trees are a big part of what makes our neighborhoods beautiful, but they are also the leading cause of power outages and can pose serious safety hazards if growing too near or into power lines.  In fact, some area residents recently experienced an outage that was caused by a tree damaging electrical equipment.

To ensure safe and reliable power, DTE Energy has begun working in some of our neighborhoods to trim, and if necessary, remove trees growing too close to power lines.  DTE's tree trimming program follows industry standards and provides a balanced solution between reliable power and healthy trees.

We ask that you work with DTE and its contract crews to provide reasonable access to property, and to ensure a safe working environment.  This would include keeping dogs or other pets inside while crews are are in the neighborhood.

Please remember that tree damage can not only cause safety concerns and reliability issues for you, but can also affect your neighbor's power.

You can learn more about DTE's tree trimming program by visiting www.dteenergy.com/treecare or calling the personalized number provided to you on your door hanger.  As always, you may contact your City officials with additional questions or concerns.

We apreciate your support as we partner with DTE to provide you with safe and reliable energy.

    Sincerely,
