Join neighbors and friends for the
LABOR DAY BRIDGE WALK
Monday, September 3, 2018
Walk Begins at 9:00 am -- no registration required
Be ready to walk at 9:00 am.
Participants have the option to walk a 2.5 mile loop or do the entire 5 mile course which will go along the Huron Valley Rail Trail and through downtown South Lyon.
The first loop takes walkers from McHattie Park south on Lafayette to 9 Mile, west to the Huron Valley Rail Trail and then follows the trail back to McHattie Park. The second loop goes from McHattie Park east to the Huron Valley Rail Trail, then north to 11 Mile Road, west to Lafayette, and back through town to the park.
No animals permitted, but strollers and wagons are allowed. Water and granola bars will be provided.
This annual event is sponsored by the South Lyon Parks and Recreation Commission, the City of South Lyon, and the South Lyon Area Recreation Authority, with support from Busch's Fresh Food Market.
Labor Day Community Walks are held throughout the state in conjunction with the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Walk. Much like the way the Mighty Mac links Michigan's two peninsulas, the Labor Day Walks link communities across the state for health, fitness and active living.
